Jamie and I couldn’t be more thankful this Thanksgiving. Tonight we closed on our very first home together as husband and wife. Jamie and I went and looked at the house in October and put in an offer almost immediately after. One month later, it was ours. At closing the former owners couldn’t be there but their daughter was on their behalf and the way she was talking about the memories of childhood that she had growing up in this home just warmed my heart. It is so exciting to think about our future memories that we are about to create in our new home. The former owners wrote us a very sweet letter and it brought tears to my eyes. I feel so grateful to be taking over someones home that was filled with so much love.

Jamie snapped this picture when we went to view the home for the first time. This is our backyard view. As you can see, I fell in love instantly. I know I will be spending many mornings sipping coffee, reading, and relaxing in the back yard.

We LOVE the overall look of the house. The best part about the exterior (besides the view) is the stucko and cedar shake shingles.

Let the demolition begin!! We have lots of great ideas for this home and we can’t wait to get to work! Here are the before pictures. We will post lots of pictures of our progress. Being we haven’t completely sold our 1st home yet, we don’t have to move in just yet…which means we can start knocking down walls and renovating without all of our stuff in the way!
