Friday Favorites with Luv, Bec

Friday Favorites with Luv, Bec 1

Spread the love.

Happy Friday friends! Hope this day finds you guys happy and ready for the weekend. I can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of January. Where is the time going?!

If you missed what we’re doing here in 2017, we are sharing with you guys our favorite people every Friday who cease to amaze and inspire our creativity! So if you missed the last couple weeks, make sure to rewind and learn all about iHome Registry and Lark and Linen, the first two favorites we shared.

But wait and do that later, because today is all about the gorgeous Rebecca from Luv, Bec. Just like Jacquelyn from Lark & Linen, I met this doll at the Cambria Innovation Summit. She was the first girl I met that weekend and it was love at first sight. Haha! But seriously, we hit it off right away and knew we would totally get along and be good friends. Not only is this girl beautiful on the outside, but she is just as sweet on the inside. Like me, she got her start from DIY’ing and has two sides to her business, the client side and the DIY side showing her readers how to replicate in their own homes.

I’ll let Rebecca tell you a little bit more about herself through our little chat. Everyone say hello to Rebecca and go give her a follow! You’ll be sure to be inspired on the daily like we always are.

Tell us who you are and what you do?

I’m Rebecca Pfeiffer (Age… really?! lol OK, I’m 33.) I’m a blogger, and the owner/writer for LUVBEC.COM. I have experience in interior styling and kitchen design, but have taken a step back from working with design clients as I focus on my blog and brand collaborations. I started my blog and Instagram in 2015.

What are your 3 favorite tools for blogging or social influence?

I know I’m still a newbie when you ask me that question and I have to seriously ask myself if there are any tools I really “rely on”?? I’m pretty simple in nature. My blogging business is no exception. I try to post only what feels organic to me and part of my everyday lifestyle.

My photos are rarely staged (unless a sponsored campaign with certain specifications). When I post an outfit, it’s most likely because I’m out in that outfit and it’s something I REALLY wear. If I post a space in my home, it’s most likely set the way that it actually looks in my home. And when I used to take clients and post clients’ photos, it was always as I had set the photos for their lifestyle. So I’m kind of an exception to the blogging world, as most times, what you see is what you get. Having said that, if I’m posting a space in my home and it looks super tidy, assume there’s a space behind that which looks like a bomb went off. I’m showing the best of my home at that time. I would say that blogging has gone to a place where most outfits are shot on a specific day, where the look is styled for those specific photos. And most interior photos are styled a specific way, specifically for those photos. I’m not sure if I’ll make adjustments to this in the future, but right now, I’m typically posting photos that look the way I have them styled in that moment (Though that changes extremely quickly.).

Having said that, I do LUV UNUM for scheduling my content and making sure my photos flow according to my feed. And I really rely on liketoknow.it for my affiliate links. So those are two tools I don’t think I could live without.

What would you do differently if you were starting in your industry now?

Nothing really. I think my business has grown in a very organic way. It flows with my lifestyle, as opposed to adjusting my lifestyle to my blog. Though, as time goes on, I really learn more and more about this industry and how to utilize the opportunities that are out there. So, I’m excited to learn more and more and see where this takes me.

What does a typical day in your week look like?

I’m a mom and wife first, and a blogger second. This started as a way to channel my passions, and I never imagined it would turn into what it has. I’ve found ways to incorporate it into my everyday lifestyle. Though it’s definitely changed my everyday routine, I’m STILL a mom and wife first. My kids are now in school five days a week (my son still only for a few hours). So I typically drop my kids off and have a few hours a day to complete my tasks, both personal and professional. Some days that consists of errands and housework. Others, I focus my entire time on creating blog content, photographing updated spaces in my home, answering emails, and communicating potential collaborations with brands I really LUV.

What is your design style?

I would describe my design style as modern/rustic with a touch of bohemian and global inspiration. Confused? Yea, me too, sometimes. Enjoying so many different design styles can be confusing and has led me to a lot of purchases that didn’t stick. But, over the last couple years, I’ve really come to understand what TRULY inspires me, and I’m extremely intentional with my purchasing decisions.

I’d say I’m mostly inspired by clean lines, minimal decor, and statements that are unique to that space. I think each space should function for YOU and include items that you truly luv. When I did take clients, the first thing we always did was take an inventory of the space we were working on. I’d encourage my clients to ask themselves two questions of each item currently in the space before we purchased anything new:  1) Does this item have a purpose? 2) Do you LUV it? If the answer to both of these questions is “no,” get rid of it. Then, only fill the space with things you truly LUV or have a purpose. I believe by doing this, you’ll create a space that you really, really LUV.

What has been your top 3 most proud of or favorite projects?

I’d say I’m most proud of the renovations we have done on our current home, as it’s the first space I’ve taken on that we’ve renovated every square inch. My home now feels consistent. Each room flows from one room to the next. Usually, I’d be able to work on one or two spaces, and then I felt chaotic about it, because nothing flowed. I’ve LUV’d to see our home come together in a way that works for us and feels really harmonious.

I also really enjoyed one of my first blogging collaborations, which was with Wendy Bellissimo. I’ve long admired her work, so when she asked me to personally call her cell phone, I was over-the-moon excited. When Wendy collaborates with an influencer, she makes it a point to build a friendship. And that’s exactly what happened with us. So it was really a collaboration I enjoyed and feel proud to have done, and feel very lucky to have made a friend in Wendy.

I’d say another experience I really adore was going to Minneapolis with Cambria Quartz (where I met you, Morgan). It was my first time to travel with and really engage with other like-minded people in my industry. The blogging industry in Tampa is much smaller than other cities, and I haven’t, yet, built a big network. So the ladies I met on this trip brought me an insane amount of inspiration that I hadn’t yet experienced in this industry. Plus, I’m totally inspired by Cambria products, so touring their facilities and really learning more about their products was a dream come true.

Who inspires you?

My favorite design inspirations are ones that really translate into real, livable spaces. So my favorite designers/bloggers to follow are House Seven Blog and Lauren Liess. I also am insanely inspired by Studio McGee and Michelle Janeen. My claim to fame is that I was the first account to share her page. Now she’s pretty much Insta-famous! 😉

How do you incorporate creativity in your free time?

Perusing Instagram tirelessly (There’s just so much inspiration, it’s endless.); Shopping for my home (I can find one item, and it can spin into a tailfeather of redecorating.); And by sifting through the newest design catalogues/magazines. I really LUV Elle Decor Magazine.

How do you keep up with the industry trends?

I don’t really set out to keep up with any trends. I just do what I LUV. And since I’m constantly looking at sources of inspiration, I’m constantly inspired to make changes. I actually would really LUV it if I could just create a space and stick with it a while. But the chances are slim. I have decorating A.D.D.

How do you respond to criticism?

I don’t.

What do you love the most/worst about being an influencer?

I LUV that I can channel my passions and that it can offer even the slightest sense of inspiration to anyone else. Let’s be honest…I REALLY LUV that I can make a small income doing what I LUV.

For me, the downside to being an influencer is the amount of time you have to spend on the grid. It can become a habit that can really take away from your personal life, if you let it. As a lifestyle blogger, it’s my “job” to share what I’m up to. But that can really take away from the moments I should be spending just “being.” Blogging is a constant battle for balance, but I’m conscious of it, and it’s something I’m constantly working on. Having said that, I’m sitting here on my computer typing away, while my kids and neighbors are playing and enjoying themselves. So it’s time for me to check out… 🙂 Thanks for following along. I’m honored to have your support. <3

Thank YOU!

Thank you Rebecca! It was so great to chat with you and I know our readers will love you and be inspired by you as much as we are. I love your honesty and sense of style. Thanks for making me laugh! Now I’m off to check out all these other people that inspire you so much…XO

Happy Weekend!
