Workshop Tour 1

Spread the love.

You guys, we have a workshop! We have never been happier. Pretty much the main reason why we bought this home.

And today, we are so excited to partner with Hang Accessories to give you a little tour of our shop, our dream ideas for the space, and a even little workout video too.

Yep, we’ll be adding a little gym into our shop too.

When we house hunted, our one must have was a workshop. We were sick of having our garage filled with all of our stuff and not being able to park in there, and with all the carpentry Jamie does, a shop was a must. Jamie was in heaven when we toured this workshop!

I immediately dreamed of my studio on one side, his shop on the other…and a little work out area for the both of us inbetween. But…Jamie had other plans, haha! His power tools, table saws, workout area, bike ramps, and man cave. My studio…well, I’m still working on that with him. Haha!

So here it is…welcome to our workshop…

Jamie, of course, has already been hard at it installing new cabinetry and appliances. That’s one thing I love most about him, he is so organized.

And the boys have been busy biking around and coming up with their BMX bike ramp plans. I’m sure Jamie will be working on that as soon as he gets all of his cabinets up and organized.

And then there’s the workout area…Jamie and I live such active lifestyles through our work, going to the gym most days is the last thing we want to do, but we both very much enjoy it and know we need to do it. We’ve been wanting a home gym for quite some time, but we just haven’t had the space. So the one thing we both agree on is having a little workout area in our shop. Though we haven’t created the look yet, we already get our cardio and weights on out there.

My favorite is the little shoe bags that come along with their bags and…the front zipper for the yoga mat. It’s like 3 bags in one.

So being Hang Accessories is sponsoring today’s post, we’d thought we’d throw in a little free workout video for you guys too. I am no workout instructor, but our girl Amy is. You remember Amy, right? She is our behind the scenes gal that helps us a lot with our marketing. Well, if you don’t know her personally, she is a crazy workout, workaholic. One of the main reasons we hired her is she has the drive of working her booty off like us.

She teaches Barre at three different workout studios around Minneapolis. I get the privilege of getting mini private lessons from her at our own home. Score!

Today you get the same benefit, because we thought we’d have her do a little takeover on this post to show you how you can work out in your own home for under 20 minutes. And if you’re big and prego like me, how to do it safely.

So…let’s get to work!

Tabata training is one of the most popular forms of high intensity interval training. It is composed of eight rounds of 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. It takes four minutes to complete each of the eight rounds, followed by one minute of active recovery before starting the next round. By keeping the heart rate elevated throughout the “work” time and allowing it to slowly recover during the active rest time, you are getting a total body anaerobic and aerobic workout. Tabata training not only burns a ton of calories, it also improves athletic performance, improves glucose metabolism, and acts as an excellent catalyst for fat burning. Try this high intensity Tabata series at home, while traveling, or even in your shop for a full body workout. All movements can be modified to fit your fitness level or, in this case, pregnancy restrictions.
