Junk Bonanza, here we come

Spread the love.

We got a call from Ki, the founder of Junk Bonanza, asking us to speak at the fall market. To say I flipped out is an understatement!!

I grew up going to junk markets, in fact, I went to Junk Bonanza’s very first show back in 2006. It was one of the shows that inspired me to get my creative juices flowing for up-cycling furniture. Now that passion has transformed into home remodeling, I don’t miss a show, and always find goodies for our client’s homes. Like this decor…got these finds at the spring show and used to style our client’s modern farmhouse basement.

The Bonanza was founded in 2006 and has more than 150 hand-picked vendors of vintage finds, beautiful antiques, architectural salvage and artisan-repurposed goods for self and home! Most of these photos are from the recent Spring show, but it will be all decked out for fall soon.

The best part about the Junk Bonanza is that you can sip a Bloody Mary while shopping (it is known as Canterbury Park’s Meal in a Cup).  Now that’s our kind of shopping!

September 20th, 21st, and 22nd we’re going to be doing a live appearance at Junk Bonanza, sharing our insights from six years of renovating and styling for ourselves and clients. The biggest question we get asked from every single client is what finishing selection to put in their space. When Junk Bonanza asked us to speak on demystifying the ways to know where to spend dollars if you’re planning for resale, we thought it would be a perfect fit as every client asks this question, whether they are moving or not.

Some clients have a plan of moving in five years or less while others are renovating their dream home. And that’s the first question we always ask when working with clients because it’s important to consider.

We will give concrete ideas as to what rooms get the best return on resale, a little bit about whether it is good or bad to be trendy in your decor, what things make the most sense to spend on, and when you should just go ahead and install whatever item just because you love it.
