Kitchen Nook Design

Spread the love.

As promised, we told you guys we were going to break down every detail of our latest kitchen remodel. Get ready for a lot of posts around this kitchen reno. Today we’re starting with the kitchen nook.

A breakfast nook within your kitchen is the perfect way to start or end your day. A classic breakfast nook is a comfy sitting area that is typically accompanied by large windows. So when this client asked us to dream with them on their new kitchen design we immediately thought of a kitchen nook with these big beautiful bay windows. It’s the perfect space to sit and relax in the mornings with your cup of coffee or sit and chat when someone’s making dinner after a long day with a cold beer. And luckily our client said, that is exactly what they were thinking!

A kitchen nook can easily add style to your space, is convenient and functional. There are a lot of different ways to add a kitchen nook into your home. You can create this space by building a built-in with benches surrounded by a large table or simply with some large comfy chairs and smaller end table. Whatever style design you decide, you won’t regret adding this into your home. So here it is, the before and afters!

Adding a breakfast nook doesn’t have to be a luxury item. We were able to create this space all for a fraction of the cost. We also had the pleasure of going shopping with our client to help her buy the perfect finishing touches all within their budget. We found all of these pieces at Home Goods, Target, and Michaels. We were able to buy everything within the kitchen nook for under $200.

The sign I scored from Michaels was my favorite. I can’t think of a more fitting quote to read every morning when starting out your day, “Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen.”

After our remodels, we like to assist our clients in the decorating. For this particular client, we picked a night to go shopping together and when we went into the store I told her, you grab your cart and I’ll grab mine. I filled up my cart up with items I wanted to buy to stage for photos and had her fill up her cart with items she knew she wanted to keep to decorate her home.

After shopping, we went back to the house and I put it all together. Once we got everything into the room we laughed really hard because she had to admit that what I was putting into my cart was totally not her style and she knew she wouldn’t want to keep a lot of it. Well, when I got it all into the home and set up she ended up keeping all of those items she thought she didn’t like and returning some of hers. Some of those items was the pantone throw and fake flowers. And I was secretly hoping she would hate it, so I could just take it to my home. haha!
