Our Kitchen Remodel | clean up time!

weekend progress on the kitchen remodel | construction2style

Spread the love.

While we were at the Builder Show, we had the sanders out and got our ceilings sprayed and finished with a knockdown texture. So, as you can imagine, we came home to a hot mess.

Up until now in a remodel phase, your home is messy and then once the sanders have been at your house, it’s insanely messy. No matter how much we tried to poly everything off, the dust somehow managed to sneak out of the room and up into the vents and literally cover every inch of our home. So we’re really excited to be over this hump and start cleaning.

We’ll also have a couple of clean living people over at the end of our reno to show us all of the tips and tricks to do for a super clean home. I can hardly wait!

Since our clients’ projects are our priority, our kitchen remodel is moving a little slower than normal, but we are officially tired of living in the construction dust with our two babies. So…this weekend we got cruising and cleaning! And even managed to get the hardwood floors laid and started to bring cabinets in.

Once the mudding, taping, and sanding are done, it’s clean up time! Hallelujah! Followed by painting, laying floors, and then getting the cabinets installed.

We were on a mission to get Cambria out this week and they’re coming tomorrow! We hauled booty this weekend.

We cleaned and cleaned and cleaned, painted and got the floors laid. We’ll save the paint colors and how we laid the floors for a later post, but we wanted to share the madness of the weekend with you. And seriously… this picture makes my heart want to explode. Greyson asks his daddy a million questions when he’s watching him work and Jamie always explains in detail what he’s doing. I can’t even imagine how valuable this all is for Greyson. He told us multiple times this weekend how much he loves his new house and helping daddy build it. I cried. Everytime.

For floors we went with a lighter flooring. It’s called Lambrusco from Urban Floor. We documented laying all the floors for you guys and will have a tutorial for you in the next couple weeks.

And Beckam loved the new floor once dad was finished as much as us. Greyson and him played cars on it for hours. I can only imagine how many race tracks will be setup in this space soon.

Wall color is Extra White by HGTV Sherwin Williams. We’ll have another post with all the details behind the paint colors we chose and why for you guys as well next week.
