Meet Kyle Storley, our Newest Project Manager

Spread the love.

Hey friends, happy Monday!

We are so very excited to introduce you to our newest c2s team member, Kyle Storley. Kyle has been with us for a little over a month now, and we are already breathing easier and feeling so thankful to have him by our side. We’re learning new things about this talented guy every day, and we’re excited for you to get to know and love him as much as we already do. So without further ado, take it away, Kyle…

Hey guys, Kyle here.

I am originally from Aberdeen, South Dakota. If you don’t know where that is, you’re not missing anything unless you like gas station casinos.

Both of my parents grew up on a farm, so I became a handy guy at a young age. I learned basic carpentry skills growing up while helping my parents with renovations and additions to the house. I even broke my arm when I was 11 years old on Christmas day, helping my dad hang sheetrock. Hospitals still give me Christmas cheer to this day.

After high school, I moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. After two winters there, I decided to become a chef, so I enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu and moved to Minneapolis. After I graduated, I spent the next several years working my way through Minneapolis’s fine dining scene (Spoon & Stable, Haute Dish (RIP), etc.).

Eventually, after years of working 80 plus hour work weeks, I burnt out. I decided to go back to school for Business and Entrepreneurial Management. During this time, I worked as an apprentice for a small bathroom and kitchen renovation company to pay my way through school. And if that wasn’t enough, I was also running a meal prep company with a very talented chef friend.

After we sold the company, I did a two-year stint in corporate America as an operations manager. It wasn’t all bad. I met my girlfriend there, and she introduced me to Morgan, who turns out to be her cousin, at a garage sale she was having.

I found a construction2style business card inside a book I bought at Morgan’s garage sale (brilliant marketing) and decided to look them up on Instagram. Obviously, their posts are amazing! I told my brother about them and what they do, and it turns out he already knew about them because he runs their SEO and had been for some time. Small world, right? Almost like it was meant to be.

I worked one day for them back in March, one day before the country went into quarantine. Not knowing what was going to happen, I moved with my girlfriend to Morgan’s hometown of Roseau, Minnesota. There I spent the next five months working on renovation projects and golfing (mostly golfing). Needless to say, when it was time to come back to the Twin Cities, it was bittersweet.

Being back on the team has been amazing. I love working with people that are always moving forward and have an entrepreneurial mindset. In this short period of time, I’ve already learned so much from working with Topher every day. Something about his boyish good looks and charm really helps me grow in this trade.

In my free time, I still love to cook. Since people are still uncomfortable going out to restaurants, my girlfriend and I have been hosting dinner parties to get our restaurant fix. If you would want more info on that, feel free to drop into my DMs. And Morgan already has some content ideas brewing for us to get working on in the kitchen together…stay tuned for some holiday content.

Excited to see where this journey takes me and to get to know you all more.
Kyle

  1. Hey, thanks Noah! I’m so happy they brought me on and I’m looking forward to getting to know you better as well. I usually leave the deserts to the professionals… aka Emily. Your family is pretty good at making desserts! When it comes to my favorite dish my go-to is definitely Braised Short Ribs. What’s your favorite dish?

  2. Great post Kyle, can’t wait to hear more, it certainly seems like it was meant to be. Sounds like there is three peas in a pod at c2s. Can’t wait to be more involved with c2s and get to know you better. Definitely want to here about your favorite dishes, did you mainly do cuisine or can you make some crazy deserts too? What’s your go to?
