Pregnancy Update, Plus our Top Baby Names

Spread the love.

Pregnancy Update:

Jamie got to feel baby girl kick today! Or maybe she was high-fiving.

And it made me so gosh darn happy! Finally, he gets to feel what I’ve been feeling.

He got home from a weekend away on a golf trip with the boys, gave me a kiss and hug and BAM! Baby girl must have known her daddy was home. I guess she missed him as much as we did.

Being pregnant during COVID means Jamie hasn’t gotten to come to one doctor visit, hear her strong heartbeat, watch her do her talented backflips, or see her smile. I feel like he’s being robbed in a sense of not getting to know her like I am. And in a weird sort of way I kinda feel like I’m doing this whole thing on my own too, even though I know I’m not.

It’s hard to believe in just a few short months we’ll have a new little one in our life and I know our world is about to flip upside down. But we’re here for it and can’t wait for the additional chaos, baby snuggles, tears, laughs, no sleep, and just all the things that come with being a family of five.

In a sense, a lot of the feelings of having our first baby are coming back all around being we’ve never experienced a little girl before. All new clothes, nursery, decor…and we accidentally gave our cribs, bassinets, and a lot of other things away so we’re back to buying too!

Pregnancy Update, Plus our Top Baby Names

We have yet to do any sort of nursery, however, we did move Beckam into Greyson’s room (which we were nervous about) and they are loving it! So her room is cleared out but before we go buy a crib, any clothes, and all the things, I really am wanting to replace the carpet and scrape the popcorn ceilings. Although we’re not in a rush being she’ll be in our room for some time, we know it would be nice to get another thing off the list so we’ll see if we find the time to get it done.

And we’re still debating on names. We shared the top 50 gender-neutral baby names a while back, which have a lot of names that we loved. And like I said in the blog post on pregnancy perspectives with my SIL, finding out the gender was a must for us and we’re more than happy to share our names when someone asks. The only thing is, we don’t just have one, we have a whole list and as we experienced before with the boys, we couldn’t agree on just one. And I have a feeling that will carry us into the delivery room, just as it did with Greyson and Beckam.

So here’s our “narrowed” down list…

  • Mabel
  • Pauline
  • Stevie
  • Nyla
  • Piper
  • Poppy
  • Presley
  • Reece
  • Rowan
  • Raegan
  • Raelyn
  • Remington
  • Saylor
  • Nola
  • Nova
  • Harlo
  • Holland
  • Eden
  • Peyton
  • Paige
  • Blakely
  • Oakley
  • Finley
  • Thea

This is a combination of Jamie’s favorites and mine (which I’m not going to disclose) however, Jamie doesn’t like mine and I don’t like his. Haha! So we’re still looking to add some to the list! And a handful is named after special people in our family, so I’m really pushing toward 1-2…

So what do you guys think, which one is your favorite? Or do you have any suggestions?

  1. I am so late to the game here, we LOVED all of these names. Willa is our niece and one of our favorite names too. In the end, I’m sure you saw, we went with Ellie. 🙂 XO Thank you for your help and inspiration!

  2. Personally love Poppy, Rowan, Finley, and Harlo from you list. A few others that I thought I’d toss out there are:

    -Willa
    -Delilah
    -Eisley
    -Emmeline
-Isla (pronounce Eye-lah… like Isla Fisher haha)

  3. Love Piper, Holland and Paige. I’ve also always loved Margo or Margeaux – so glam!

  4. Pauline & Stevie are my top 2 for obvious reasons…….Mabel is in there too!💜💜💜
A favorite name of mine is Aubrey. If Andrew was girl, that would have been his name!

  5. I do love that name!! Thank you, it is hard… especially when you and your significant other don’t agree on any, haha!

  6. We have two boys but if we had a girl, Nola would have been her name. Good luck-tough decision!

  7. Harlow seems to fit your family and style- love that name! We have a Lyla and Henley and we love the name Crosby. 🤍🤍

  8. Those are so pretty, thank you!! I especially love Marabel… that is so girl and a fun play off of Mabel. THANK YOU!!

  9. Bodhi is a great name for a girl or a boy! I have a little four month old Bodhi myself
