We’re huge fans of floating shelves because they don’t hide fun backsplashes or look bulky in a space and can be used to display decor and dishes. Using the diamond turned hexagon shapes, this bar area has a unique design that slowly changes as it goes up the ceiling with floating shelves to accent.
Selections for Shelf Styling:
Container Candle | White Stoneware Vase | Cement Pot Succulent | Succulent Glass Terrarium | White Pillar Candle Holder | Potted Succulent | Potted Plant on Island | Cream Mini Bowls | Stoneware Mugs | Wood Base Potted Plant | Decorative Vase | White Vase
In this typical 90’s home there was a desk area in the kitchen. We suggested turning the desk into a bar area where they could display cookbooks, decor, and hang their TV. The challenge was to create a space where that would work with their current kitchen layout and bring new life into the kitchen with a custom bar complete with floating shelves, a quartz countertop, and handmade custom tile.
With this bar area, we styled the shelves with simple, modern pieces that were light and bright and didn’t distract from the beautiful tile. The decor is white, cream, and light including greenery and touches of gold. We wanted the decor to compliment the bar area, without taking away from the amazing countertop and backsplash. This Hearth and Hand, Threshold, and Opalhouse decor from Target was the perfect compliment to this already stunning kitchen bar area.
