This soulful Edina family had just bought their home and were ready to make it truly theirs. With a couple of young kids and a warm, personal sense of style, they didn’t want a builder-grade, cookie-cutter kitchen and main level — they wanted a home that felt like them from the very first glance. The challenge was to design a full kitchen and main level renovation that could keep up with busy family life while giving our clients a space that felt curated, collected, and full of heart rather than generic.

We approached this full kitchen and main level renovation as a true collaboration, curating every single detail alongside our clients rather than simply for them. Working with Emser Tile, we brought in a custom-cut checkerboard floor that grounds the space in cottage-core charm, layered with warm cabinetry, brass fixtures, and a layout built to work as hard as this family does. But what makes the space truly sing is what our clients brought into it: photos of her grandmother, framed family recipe cards, and decor pieces gathered over the years. Every choice, from tile to trinket, was made to light up their life — the result is a kitchen and main level that’s every bit as functional as it is full of soul.
