With this kitchen refresh, our clients already liked the layout of the space because of the functionality and how it worked well for their family. Since the cabinets, backsplash, and countertops were all a shade of brown, the space felt a little dark and nothing really stood out. The cabinets are beautiful and we encouraged our clients to keep them and update the countertops and backsplash to make the space feel more bright and open. In addition, they wanted to add their own style to the space so they were looking to bring in a pop of color to the island and incorporate handmade tile for the backsplash.
Our clients love their new kitchen and the cabinets look amazing when paired with the lighter quartz countertops, open shelving, navy island, and light backsplash. Painting the island Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore gives it a new look and makes it a statement in the space, without taking away from the other beautiful elements. Cambria countertops in the Ironsbridge design provide a great neutral for the rest of the kitchen and really brighten up the space. Black accents in the faucet, drinking faucet, and hardware really tie the space together and a custom backsplash design from Mercury Mosaics under the hood makes this kitchen truly unique. Replacing the under-mount sink to a farmhouse style makes a larger impact and reflects our clients love for the modern farmhouse style. Finally, floating shelving to the left of the window over the sink allows for more light to flow through the kitchen and provides a great space for displaying fun decor, cookbooks, and dishware.
