the challenge

This project had a few unusual challenges. The hands on side of this project wasn’t anything we hadn’t seen before but the location was certainly something we weren’t used to. Both Jamie and I live 1 hour or more away from this location which made our mornings quite early. Once we got to the project we were faced with more difficulties. The condo was located on the 3rd floor and we only had elevator access. The project in and of itself had a ton of demo work that needed to be done. Given that we were in a condo building we also had no spot to order/place a dumpster.

our solution

Our solution was a lot of trips up and down the elevator with a lot of garbage bags. Jamie and I had to strategize on how much we could fit in a bag, whether to use garbage cans (which take up a lot of room in a small bathroom) and good ways to keep the area clean. When you are in someones space that belongs to more than just the client (the rest of the tenants in the condo) you have to make sure you are keeping the space clean. Although the many trips up and down the stairs got tiring, having a pickup bed as well as a trailer to pack it all in helped a lot.
