Bathroom Fan Grille Replacement
As you know we’ve been working like crazy on the final updates to our basement over these last few months and you bet we’re making some final changes in our basement bathroom too.
If you remember, when we first moved into our home, we didn’t have a bathroom in our basement. However there was plumbing roughed into our utility room, which sometimes can be the most expensive cost. So we thought why not add one?!
Knowing we wouldn’t have to break up the concrete to hook plumbing up, we knew it would be simple and inexpensive enough to put in a little powder bath.
But we also knew that we had limited space, the ceilings were low and we only had so much width space to work with being it was apart of our utility room. And being the ceilings got even lower once we got them framed out and drywall up, we knew we wouldn’t be able to do any sort of lighting on the ceiling.
Then while we were out at the KBIS & IBS Show earlier this year we were introduced to some of the new LED Broan®-NuTone fans that incorporated some really cool lighting. So we’re doing a bathroom fan grille replacement to light up our room and also incorporate a more sleek, clean, and illuminating design. We also appreciated the the fan design has a white finish to coordinate with our brand new knockdown textured white ceilings. And extra bonus, because there aren’t as many vent slots, makes for easier cleaning!

I’m no electrician, and only know how to do very limited electrical, but when we got our new fan in the mail, I was so excited that I ran downstairs and installed it all by myself in under five minutes in four simple steps.

And I didn’t even have to call Jamie for help! I was pretty proud of myself.
All I had to do was remove the old grill and unplug the motor. Then I just plugged in the new grille into the fan receptacle and the motor into the grille’s pass-thru plug and pushed the springs up and it snapped into place. The pass- thru plug eliminates the need for extra wiring and having to call an electrician.
And bam, just like that we have ourself not only a cleaner and more modern bathroom fan, but more light in our space!
