When we first purchased our home the bathrooms were very dark and outdated. We knew we wanted to gut the entire room to make the space brighter and to feel bigger and cleaner. We also wanted to update the room with a more classic feel so that when we had the itch to change the space we didn’t have to completely renovate it. A bathroom remodel is no small undertaking so once you get the space you love, stick with it for awhile and do simple updates like new decor when your wanting to transform your space.

Freshening up your space doesn’t have to mean taking down walls and repainting, it can be something as simply swapping out the towels and bath mat. This can refresh your bathroom instantly. This past winter, we used dark brown and grey towels and now for spring and summer we’re swopping things out with a nice white classic microlush set from Wayfair.

When updating your bathroom with new hand towels my tip is perfect placement. My favorite spot to place hand towels are right next to the sink on the vanity, folded almost perfectly. The key is to make sure it looks fluffy and clean. I am very particularly when it comes to folding our bath towels. I even had to give Jamie a tutorial when we got married. I may be a little crazy but I love opening up our linen closet to seeing a stack of nice lush towels, where the edges don’t show. I just feel that much cleaner when I wrap myself up in one after a bath.

I fold our hands towel a little bit different than our bathroom towels. When folding our hand towels, all you have to do is lay your towel out flat on a surface, fold the long edges so that they meet in the middle and flop it over. Some people suggest when you fold it over to do it in thirds so that even the edges aren’t showing on your hand towel. However, I still want people to use the hand towel. So I don’t want it too perfectly placed.

For our bath towels, you lay it out flat, fold it in half, flip it forward and then fold it in half again, and then flip it down twice. That way you get the really fold in the front of the towel.IMG_0637

I’m even a little crazy with the shower mat. I need my bath mat to stay as clean as possible so I always wanted it hung back over the tub after it’s done being used. haha!

  1. I’m actually doing a mini renovation on my second bathroom in the next few weeks–as soon as I find floor tiles I like. I really like your tiles, do you mind sharing what name/style they are? And obviously fresh towels would be a wonderful addition to my new bathroom.

    1. Awesome! I can’t wait to see pictures! We love, love these tiles. We have even used them in 3 other renovations for our clients too! They are called Leonia Silver Tile and we got them from Lowes.

  2. The white makes me nervous with young kiddos, but I just can’t get enough of the crisp white fluffy look. It’s clean, it’s bright, and it makes my heart happy. That’s what bleach is for right?! 😉

  3. I am loving the white for spring too, I will definitely be putting away the gray and adding white to my master bath. This set is absolutely beautiful.

  4. I am freshening up the bathroom our guests use with a new vanity, paint color, and mirror. I would love a new towel set to use for my guests in the bathroom!

  5. Spring brings renewal in many ways – this beautiful towel set would be a great refreshing addition to our bath – it’s been awhile since we’ve purchased fresh new towels.

  6. I bought a place just shy of a year ago. I’ve managed to update most of the rooms but still haven’t done my bathroom! These towels would be a great start!!
