After the storms we have had lately in MN Jamie decided he needed to get some old, dead trees down in his yard.  He took two down in the backyard and one down in the front yard, all in which in one bad storm could come right down onto the house.Tree removal costs vary depending on where you live, how close the tree is to the house, and how easily accessible it is to get to the tree to take down but is easily thousands of dollars. So Jamie and his dad took on the task themselves. The first picture below is the tree that came down in the front yard.

IMG_0343 Dale took the saw and starting sawing away at the base of the tree while Jamie backed the tractor up and pulled on the tree. I could hardly watch as I kept visualizing the tree falling directly back onto the house…

Cleaning up the tree in the backyard.

IMG_0338The boys hauled away a trailer load of trees and branches, and we got an abundant supply of firewood!  It is kind of sad to watch these trees get taken down after so many years of life! I guess we will just need to plant more. Jamie has a few more to take down but is going to wait on those for another day as they aren’t in danger of falling onto the house.
