Sharing eleven simple steps for you to use for your own Galentine’s party to make it feel extra special & hope to inspire you!
Last week we invited some of our favorite friends, brand partners and colleagues over to our home to love on, spoil and re-energize! And my heart is going to be overflowing for months after our Galentine’s luncheon.
I’ve always been a lover of the Valentine’s Day holiday for as long as I can remember. I feel like it’s a time that you think about, reflect on and remember all of the people you love so much and why. So today I wanted to share with you all the fun and details that went into our party for your Valentine’s party planning inspiration!
Have a Theme or Purpose
The first step to any good party is to have a theme or purpose for your party, even if it’s simply to love on your girlfriends! Chose your colors, things you want to serve and do, and try to be as intentional as you can. This will make the rest of the party planning more seamless. We made a mood board that gave us inspiration of what we wanted our party theme to look like.
Being we had just recently wrapped up our lower level I thought it would be fun to get a group of girlfriends and have a little reveal party and being Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I decided to make it Galentine’s themed reveal luncheon. And it was a hit!
I’m always a fan of sending out invitations for any event. I think it makes it feel a little more meaningful and special.
I like to get my invites off of Etsy. You can edit and download instantly, and best of all it’s really inexpensive, and look how adorable they are! And bonus you’re supporting makers and designers. Then you can either email them over to your guests or print them yourself at home and mail out. We got these adorable invites from Lewis Design Co. and they cost us a whopping total of $5.60.
Make it a Collaboration
As you know, I’m a big fan of involving others in any event and party we put on and making a bigger collaboration out of it. It makes others feel included and if you’re a content creator and/or a few of your guests are as well, it helps give content to all! I’ve done many collaborations with these girls and my favorite thing about these ladies is that we each bring a different talent yet all have the same style and work so well together.
Months prior we planned out what we wanted to do, the style and vibe of the party we wanted to go with, what decor we needed, and what drinks and food we wanted to serve. Then the day of the ladies came over with their cars filled hours before the party and we got to work! And FAST! And as the first guest was arriving, the last balloon went up.
Floral, Decor & Greenery
Florals and greenery make any party! Even if that’s all the decor you bring to your party, it’ll look fabulous if you ask me. Especially if you’re having a Valentine’s theme.
I ran to our favorite local garden center here in Elk River and grabbed all of the pink, red, and purple flowers that I could for us girls to make arrangements out of. And then I scooped up all of their greenery, white pine, and eucalyptus. Erin and Lea are the pros of creating a greenery garland so I knew that was high on the list and they knocked it out of the park with the bar cart!
Erin’s working on a tutorial for you, coming soon too.
Photo Back Drop
Any party always needs a photo backdrop! And thanks to Stephanie and Lea, they had some leftover paper florals that happened to be pink, red and white…perfect for our Valentine’s theme.
And we always recommend hiring professional photography, so you can be in the moment instead of on your phone. A huge THANK YOU to our girl Chelsie Lopez for documenting all of the moments of our day.
Lea got to work putting the backdrop together moving slowly from left to right placing each paper floral up and around our frames in our dining room adding in a few clusters of balloons. She’s working on a tutorial for you and I can’t wait to share it!
Get Festive & Dress up!
With the theme, I asked everyone to get festive and dress up! I told them to wear a splash of red, pink or purple. Even if that was just their lipstick or earrings. This also helps with the photo backdrops ops and then everyone is kinda matching which makes for cuter themed photos.
As of recently, I’m all about delegation (and I’m getting better every day) and if you’re throwing a party, delegating things to others will make your life less stressful.
When throwing parties, I used to do it all myself… decor, food and drinks. And over the years as I’ve been asking others more and more to help step in not only has it made me less stressed but it has also created for a lot better parties! And instead of running around with my head cut off during them, I can now hang out and catch up with friends.
When friends ask if there is something they can do to help you, take it up, and say YES instead of saying no and adding another thing to your plate. Hire out your food and drinks and I bet you’ll spend less and the food will taste even better! Because the pros that you are hiring probably have all those ingredients that you typically don’t.
Food & Drinks
Make sure to go with a Valentine’s theme with your food too, to make the party festive! Carrie did pink waffles, yogurt with pink sprinkles, donuts with pink heart-grabbing sticks, all of the red and pink fruit you can buy and so much more.
And Misfit Coffee even had adorable pink cups! Marcus was mixing up champagne cocktails and drip coffee and nitro cold brews. Once again things I wouldn’t even know where or how to begin mixing up. He even makes his special own homemade syrups and everything he mixed up was a hit!
Card Making Station
Having an activity for guests to do at any party is always a great idea! It gives them something to do and it can be used as an ice breaker too if people don’t know one another.
When I think of Valentine’s Day, the first thing I think about is creating and giving homemade cards to one another. Brings me back to the childhood days and something I haven’t quit doing during this holiday.
Thanks to the fabulous crew at Fiskars, they sent us and all the girls home with card making products, stickers and tools. So while the girls were visiting, they were getting their craft on! They either made a card for someone at the party or to bring home for their loved ones.
Treat Yo Girls!
Giveaways, goodie bags and/or gifts are always a good idea for any of your parties! I always like to make sure our guests are leaving with their hands full. Especially if you’re trying to love on and spoil your friends!
A huge THANK YOU to Poly & Bark, Room & Board, Mercury Mosaics, Elkay, Kentucky Rose Designs, Select Surfaces, Cambria, Fiskars, Delta, Brizo, and Caséta by Lutron…all of our guests won or went home with something. All of which are brand partners of ours and products that we have in our home, so it was fun to show them the products in real life and how they can use them in their homes as well.
And remember to have some fun, hug on, love on, uplift, empower and motivate one another! That’s is, after all, the reason you’re throwing a Galentine’s party. So kick back, relax, and take in every single moment of your party and day!
