Highland Court Basement Bar | Chanhassen, MN

the challenge

This was such a fun project! Our clients were looking to add a bar in their basement to have a space to entertain family and friends. They knew they wanted two under counter refrigerators, a glass door for their wine, and to incorporate reclaimed wood into the space. One of the challenges was figuring out how to separate the wine storage from the rest of the bar, so by adding a wall and using different material on the wall, it helps define the spaces.

our solution

After going back and forth with their inspiration images, we came up with a design that included reclaimed shelving, wood paneling, a stone accent wall, and a glass door for the wine storage. By adding storage with cabinets and two small refrigerators, this space is perfect for storing glass, wine, and beer for entertaining. Having a bar sink and faucet in the basement bar also makes it simple to clean up and wash dishes. Jamie built the custom planters to add greenery and life to the wall and also built the custom reclaimed shelving that became the statement piece of the space.
