In this kitchen design, our clients were looking for unique tile that would make a statement in the space and also tie into the muted green cabinets for their kitchen island. The kitchen is open to the dining room and living room in this open concept custom new build, so the rooms also needed to flow together. With the countertops, they were wanting a light and bright quartz option that was no-maintenance and easy to clean for their busy family. Incorporating fun lighting and some color to the space was another priority.
This amazing backsplash is diamond-shaped handmade tile from Mercury Mosaics and the colors work perfectly with the rest of the space, as well as the muted green island. Adding color to the backsplash and island make the kitchen unique and give it personality, while also allowing it to flow with the rest of the home’s design. A custom wood hood becomes a focal point, along with the backsplash. Continuing the tile into the coffee bar next to the pantry keeps the design flowing throughout the space. An industrial looking faucet provides a modern look, while also making it easy to clean the large sink. Including a pot-filler over the range works well for being able to easily cook meals for their family and entertain guests. Seating on the back side of the island is a perfect spot for kids to do their homework, eat breakfast, and help in the kitchen. Sleek black hardware plays off the blacks in the backsplash and gold pendants give off a little shine.
