If you guys caught our How to Throw a Galentine’s Party post last week, you know how much fun we had spoiling our girlfriends at our Valentine’s party.
And thanks to my girls Erin from Francois Et Moi and Lea from Creekwood Hill, we brought together some of our favorite DIY activities so everyone could feel included.
So today, in collaboration with Erin and Lea, we wanted to walk you through the DIY party ideas that we did for your inspiration.
Greenery Garland
For any party, I’m all about the greenery and florals. In my opinion if this is all you bring to a party it will be simply beautiful. And Erin and Lea are the queens of greenery garland. We asked Erin if she could add some perfect greenery garland for our bar cart. And of course, she killed it yet again.
And she’s walking you through exactly how to create your own greenery garland for any event on, HERE.
XOXO Table Cloth
Tools & Materials:
- Bed sheet or plain table cloth
- Black sharpie
I saw an XOXO table cloth online and instead of buying it, I thought let’s make it! And if you have an old bed sheet laying around that you don’t need it’ll cost you basically nothing.
I took this old bed sheet that had some tears in it and then with a black sharpie Jordan (who has the best handwriting) wrote our X’s and O’s all around the table in large print.
Perfect way to make your Valentine table a bit more festive!
Paper & Balloon Photo Backdrop
With any party, you need a good photo backdrop, especially if you’re hosting a Galentine’s party.
Since we asked everyone to show up in a pop of red, pink or purple and hired a photographer, we knew there would be some good photo ops!
The talented Lea, from Creekwhood Hill, brought along paper stars and we grabbed some balloons.
In our dining room we have a pretty big wall, filled with antique gold frames that slowly go up from the bottom left to top right. This creates a blank open space, which makes for a great photo back wall.
Lea got to work on creating this backdrop and she has a full tutorial on how she did it over on her blog HERE.
Valentine Card Making Station
I always like there to be something for our guests to be doing at any event or party we host. And what better activity for a Galentine’s theme then for all of your ladies to be able to make some homemade Valentine’s cards?!
So we rounded up all of our favorite card making supplies, laid them out on the tables with a few examples and let them use their creativity. Fiskars has the best card making supplies, so we rounded up an assortment of our favorite tools and materials, spread them out on the table and let the girls go to town. And best of all, we had multiples of the products, so the ladies got to bring the supplies home to continue on with their Valentine cards at home as a thank you for coming.
Tools & Materials Needed:
- Scissors
- Paper Trimmer
- Pop-up Heart Punch
- Heart Confetti Squeeze Punch
- Colorful Card Stock Paper
- Stamp blocks
- Brayer Roller for Ink
- Stamps
- Gel Pens & Markers
Waffle Station
And with any good Valentine’s party with your gals, you need some good and festive, photo worthy, food! A waffle station is the perfect kind of DIY station. And even better if you put some pink food dye into them. Mix them up, pour them in and then lay out all of the toppings for your ladies to dish up!
Drinks
With any Galentine’s party, you know you need to have some fun girly drinks! Get those pink cups out, champagne, simply syrups and create a bar entertaining area for them to be able to learn and mix up some new fun cocktails they maybe hadn’t tried before.
Create some fun recipe cards for them to make and take home to try out later too, like we did here!
And then it’s time to pop the bubbly and have some fun!!
And you can circle back to all of the fun we had in our last blog post, How to Throw a Galentine’s Party!
