Another kitchen refresh in the books! When the layout of the cabinets is working for our clients and they’re not looking for a full gut and remodel, a kitchen refresh is a perfect way to update the space and give it a new feel. In this kitchen, our clients loved how their kitchen was open to the dining room and living room and liked how their cabinets tied into the rest of the woodwork in their home but they were ready for a fresh update.
Designs
Mood Board
The inspiration for this space included keeping the wood elements, black accents, and a unique tile shape. Light and bright quartz countertops were also on the wishlist, along with updated lighting.
Renderings
In the new design, one of the options was to replace the microwave above the range with a black hood. Due to the venting, our clients decided to keep their microwave where it was but brought in the black accent in the island.
Through the rendering process, we were able to determine the backsplash color and layout. This elongated white hexagon was the winner!
Painting the island brings a new look to the space and ties into the other black accents of the faucets and cabinet hardware.
Before & After
Before | Island + Sink View
The previous kitchen had a 4″ granite backsplash and countertop on the perimeter and a black countertop on the island. The plan was to do new countertops that were the same throughout the kitchen. When getting new countertops, it’s a good time to update the sink and faucet as well. And our clients were looking for a more modern faucet and wanted to incorporate an under-mount sink for ease of cleaning, so it was the perfect time to do so!
After | Island + Sink View
It’s amazing how new countertops can dramatically change the look of the kitchen! Cambria Delgatie is a beautiful design and the quartz material makes these countertops maintenance free and great quality. The island was painted Tricorn Black and definitely gives it a new look as well. An elongated white hexagon tile backsplash brightens up this space as well and adds a unique shape.
An Elkay quartz composite sink and Delta matte black touch faucet are some of our favorites. They elevate the sink area with clean lines and modern features. With an under-mount sink, you’re able to sweep any crumbs from the counter right into the sink and you don’t get anything stuck around the sink, which makes clean up a breeze. And with a touch faucet, washing your hands, even if they’re messy is super easy.

Above the kitchen window, a simple globe semi-flush mount light ties into the pendants over the island. If you’re looking for a simple and low-cost way to elevate your cabinets, consider new cabinet hardware! Instead of doing all pulls and needing to drill new holes for the drawers, our clients went with a mix of square knobs and black pulls on the doors that complement each other beautifully.

Before | Living Room
To create a consistent feel between the kitchen, dining, and living room, our clients were looking to bring their hardwood flooring into this space as well.
After | Living Room
After matching the flooring and sanding and refinishing it all, these floors look amazing and run throughout the main level, bringing a continuous feel to these spaces!

Thank you Daniel!
Such an amazing transformation. Loved these gorgeous photos. Keep up the excellent work. Cheers
It was a real hardwood original to the home, that the former homeowners already had in place and then stained in a natural finish.
Thank you!
Nice transformation! Great job, guys. Keep it up!
what is the flooring that you used in the living room?
