Last week we spent our time in Las Vegas for the CES (Consumer Technology Association) Convention. And we’re already saving the date that was just released for next year, January 6-9, 2021!
200,000+ attendees, 5K exhibitors, and over 1K speakers… let’s just say we were a little overwhelmed for our first time being there. However, that’s often how we always feel when it comes to our first time going to any conference. But once you get one conference under your belt, the following just get better and better as you learn to navigate it all.
CES is the world’s gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as the proving ground for innovators and breakthrough technologies for 50 years — the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, it attracts the world’s business leaders and pioneering thinkers.
What surprised us the most about the convention was that it wasn’t just held at the Convention center like so many shows we’ve been too, it was spread out within hotels as well! We spent the majority of our time at The Venetian where conference room after conference room were overflowing with new products and technology.
The big trends at this years show that we knew were coming but once again blown away is how all products, especially within the home are getting more and more “smart.” And best of all these smart devices are getting easier and easier to not only use but install. That was the highlight and good news for us! A lot of times smart electronics can be overwhelming to most homeowners but with some of the latest integrations that are coming… all you’re going to have to do is simply plug it in and the products do the rest.
One of the biggest things we saw and really got to learn more about was Caséta by Lutron’s motion sensor lights. No more worrying about walking into your dark house with hands full and trying to hit that light switch. Or getting up in the middle of the night and walking into the bathroom and stubbing your toe.
Excited for all the new smart home products we’ll soon be incorporating into our clients homes! And already counting down the days for next years show- save the date- January 6-9, 2021 in Las Vegas!
