Funky Junk. My favorite! Who doesn’t love a good flea market find? My aunt Nancy got me hooked on the shabby chic, funky junk style when she took me to my first flea market in Santa Monica, CA. And I still own and use the goodies I bought at that market. That’s the good thing about “junk,” it never goes bad. 🙂

Flea Market’s are the staple of summer shopping for bargain hunters and antique collectors alike, flea markets are one of the best sources for unique, affordable items. Whether you want something for your home or car, or you collect strange and unique articles, some of the best flea markets in Minnesota can really provide lots of value.

Easily one of the more colorful atmosphere’s you will find anywhere in MN, some of these top summer flea markets attract people from all walks of life. 1. Junk Bonanza

September 24, 25 & 26, 2015

Junk Bonanza is held every spring in summer at the Canterbury Park in Shakoppe, MN. This fall it will be taking place September 24, 25 & 26. And in the spring it is typically held end of April.

Ki Nassauer’s is the founder of Junk Market. She used to hold a monthly sale from her home in Long Lake, MN. This was the place to find her re-salvaged creations! She has since launched shows in Portland, Oregon and San Diego, CA.

You can find anything and everything with great prices of vintage and antique pieces from a ton of creative vendors. And is a ball of fun!!

 

2. Antique Spectacular Show & Flea Market

April 18, 2015 – April 19, 2015
October 3, 2015 – October 4, 2015

Twice a year the MN state fair grounds turns into the Antique Spectacular Show & Flea Market. This one another one of my favorites! Hundreds of dealers exhibiting both indoors and outdoors. It’s is always a beautiful day to get outside in MN to enjoy the crisp fall air. There is a unique blend of antique furniture, collectables and outdoor flea market items.

 

3. Duluth Junk Hunt 

November 13 & 14, 2015

2920 W Michigan St.
Duluth, MN

I have always wanted to check out the Duluth Junk Hunt, but maybe this year! It is a 2 day indoor event being held November 13 & 14, 2015. This event is event is held every spring and summer at different locations. They feature a ton of vendors from all over the state. From vintage to antique and re-purposed pieces.

 

4. Stop, Swap & Shop

May 11- September 2, 2015

15400 Buck Hill Road
Burnsville, MN 55306

One of the newer flea markets in MN, this outdoor shopping experience is located at Buck Hill Ski Area. Plenty of vintage and retro clothing adorn the many aisles and parking is a breeze, directly across the facilities.

During the summer months, this Minnesota flea market teems with activity, and the ski hill is just a stone’s throw away. Held in Burnsville at a Twin Cities landmark, the Buck Hill Ski Area, they are open May 11th through Labor Day (September 2nd), every weekend, on both Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am to 4pm daily, and also on Fridays, starting June 7th.

5. Hamel Lions Flea Market

Easily one of the largest flea markets in Minnesota, this facility has been known to house well over 200 vendors during the busy summer months. If you want the ultimate in variety, you can’t go wrong by heading over to Hamel Lions.

One of Hennepin County’s largest outdoor flea markets. They open beginning of May until September 27th every Sunday from 6am-12pm.

6. Wright County Swappers Meet

April 4- October 31, 2015

Billed and recognized as one of the largest flea market in Minneapolis, Wright County boasts well over 500 vendors on any given summer day. They are open every Saturday from April 4-October 31. With that kind of selection, there’s little doubt that you can completely lose yourself on a hot summer Saturday browsing the extensive selection of products.

Not to be forgotten, the swap meet at Wright County also features a full scale farmer’s market and antique mall, along with a dedicated garage sale section and collectable art fair.

7. Shady Hollow Flea Market

May-September 2015 every Saturday and Sunday

12957 Co. Hwy 17
Detroit Lakes, MN 56501

Newer to the flea markets of MN, Shady Hollow is the epicenter of handicrafts and handmade collectables. Complete with a food fair and farmer’s market, Shady Hollow has the selection and attractions for everyone in your family, regardless of how old they are.

During the summer, Shady Hollow also boasts a wide range of activities and attractions perfect for the children in your home. Enjoy a meal from the Shady Hollow BBQ or the newly expanded Pizzeria to satisfy your hunger while you shop for the hard to find item you want.

The flea market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 6am-4pm, Mid May until September 5th.

8. Gold Rush 

MAY 8, 9 & 10, 2015
AUGUST 14, 15 & 16, 2015

Gold Rush is known as the Olmstead County Antique Show & Market. This Rochester, MN flea market show has been held at the Rochester fairgrounds since 1973, taking over 13 buildings and 3 arenas! There is over 1500 antique and collectible dealers from across the all around the U.S. And best part is, free admission!!
