Well, folks, another year has come and gone, and what a wild ride it’s been. We’ve had babies on the way, new businesses launched, retreats planned, and, of course, some unforgettable construction chaos.
Let’s break it down because if 2024 has taught us anything, it’s that life doesn’t slow down for anyone—especially not the construction2style crew.
construction2style Crew is having Babies, Babies, and More Babies
First off, let’s talk about the baby boom that has been happening in the construction2style crew. Anya had her second baby last December, Jill became a grandma in the summer and now Topher and Kayla are both expecting little bundles of joy in the new year!
We’re are grateful and thrilled for them, and honestly, we can’t wait to see how they juggle babies and job sites (spoiler: we know they’ll crush it). Baby bump updates have been a regular part of team meetings, and we’ve all been brainstorming ways to baby-proof construction zones. It’s safe to say 2024 is ending with a lot of anticipation—and maybe a few extra cravings.
Neon Lion Media Officially Launched
Because One Brand Wasn’t Stressful Enough.
In true c2s fashion, we thought, “You know what would be fun? Launching another company!” If you haven’t heard yet, Neon Lion Media is our brand-new media agency. Running one brand was apparently not chaotic enough, so we figured, why not add a second? If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to juggle job sites, social media content, and, oh yeah, life, well, it’s just as insane as it sounds. But here we are, making it happen, one post, one strategy, and one late-night brainstorm at a time.
One of the best parts of this journey? Working with some of the most talented people in the building world. We’ve been lucky to help amazing brands like Great Northern Builders, Meg & Co., Integro Builders, Manomin Resawn Timbers, Alair Kirkland, and Built to Last Custom Closets level up their digital footprint with our Neon Lion approach. From crafting killer content to developing strategies that showcase their craftsmanship, it’s an honor to support them as they bring their visions to life. Here’s to building more—together!
BuildHer Goes Global
We kicked off 2024 with a bang, launching BuildHer Retreat and taking an incredible group to Costa Rica. Sun, sand, and building businesses—it doesn’t get better than that. None of it would have been possible without my amazing co-creators, Allyson from Integro Builders and Megan from Meg & Co Designer Homes. These two powerhouse women are the heart and soul behind this retreat, and together, we’ve built something truly special.
As badass women in the construction industry, we’re committed to creating a space where others like us can learn, grow, and support one another. The energy, collaboration, and insights shared at this year’s retreat were nothing short of inspiring. They fueled all the attendees and gave them strengths and drive to continue building their incredible brands. And because we’re clearly gluttons for punishment, we’re already deep into planning the 2025 retreat. Let’s just say spreadsheets and sunshine were the themes of this year. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this incredible community!
Contractor Coalition Summit
Oh, and let’s not forget the Contractor Coalition Summit—a little event we like to call “organized chaos.” Between workshops, networking, and some of the best minds in the industry, this year’s summit was nothing short of epic. We’re still recovering (and by recovering, we mean planning the next one).
The Heart of It All
Of course, at the center of everything is this crew:
- Topher: Building houses and babies at the same time—someone get this guy a nap.
- Kayla: Juggling design deadlines and baby prep like the true multitasker she is.
- Ethan: The voice of reason when the rest of us are running on caffeine and vibes.
- Anya: Our SEO wizard who somehow makes “meta descriptions” sound glamorous.
- Jamie and Morgan: Living proof that you can run businesses, raise kids, and still have (somewhat) functioning brain cells.
Cheers to 2025
As we wrap up 2024, we’re feeling all the emotions—grateful, exhausted, and excited for what’s to come. Thank you to our clients, partners, and everyone who’s been part of this crazy ride with us. We wouldn’t be here without you.
