It’s the final countdown…!!
Last week we pretty much wrapped up this kitchen remodel. Again, hello dream clients! We’re not going to reveal the after quite yet, because these rad clients are also letting us style their space. And we’re waiting for a few more furniture pieces to come in that are on backorder.
The clients wanted to open their kitchen up and make it a more practical space for their family. They wanted out with the old and in with the new. We started this project (as most do) with the demolition of the old space. We removed all the old cabinetry and stripped the walls down to the studs. Along with the sheetrock, we removed some walls and pillars to give it a more open and inviting feel.
The kitchen was our main focus, but as you can see it transitions into the dining, living, and front sitting rooms. The old floors in the dining room and front sitting room had carpet, which was stained and not suitable for a dining room. We ripped up the old carpet and continued the hardwood floor throughout the house. It still blows our minds how seamless and natural the new floors look in comparison to the old wood floors. You can’t tell old vs. new after having them sanded down and re-stained. We used the same color to refresh the entire main floor.
The clients wanted to keep the wood look but no longer wanted the honey oak anymore. They also wanted all new appliances, faucets, fixtures, lighting, and a large center island that would create an open space feel.
We put in custom walnut cabinetry through a new supplier we’ve already created a great relationship with, which has led to another kitchen renovation project coming up in August. We then chose to accent the beautiful custom walnut upper and lower cabinets with an all-white island topped with a huge slab of granite.
We are currently adding the final touches before the photo shoot and are crazy excited to share it with all of you!
So, for now, here’s a look at the before and some behind the scenes during the renovation. We’ll be back with the full rundown and afters soon.
