Have a small space and wondering how to give it a refresh? In smaller living rooms, little changes can make a big difference in your space feeling updated and reflecting your style. We are always thinking of ways to refresh the rooms in our home, as well as our clients, without breaking the bank or completely redoing the space. Here are some of our tips for your living room.
Add Greenery
No matter if it’s faux or real, greenery can make a big difference in adding life to your space. We love incorporating greenery into every space in our home. Mixing up tall eucalyptus in a large glass vase with succulents adds depth and variety to the plants in your home. Use greenery on built-in shelving, on your coffee table, or on your fireplace mantle to add a natural element.
Bring in Natural Light
Ahh natural light! It always makes a space feel so much larger and more open. While window treatments are great for privacy at night, open those babies up during the day and let the natural light shine in. Think about your furniture placement in regards to the windows in your space. You don’t want your furniture to be blocking light coming in, so like this space below, position your sectional or sofa perpendicular to the window.
Refresh With Paint
Paint makes SUCH a difference in your home feeling fresh and clean. Whether you love the color you have or want to switch it up, a fresh coat of paint is the way to go. Debating on a color? Incorporate Rugs
We are ALL about rugs in any and every space in your home. They instantly make your space feel more defined and also add an element of coziness. If your living room is connected to other rooms in your home, a rug helps to gives the space shape and clearly defines the furniture layout. Rugs also bring in warmth, especially if you have hardwood flooring in your living room.

Use Shelving for Decor
In small spaces, a lot of decor on the walls may make your space feel cluttered and closed in. Use floating shelves on either side of the fireplace on on the wall to reign in that decor. If you like the clean and simple look, less is more when it comes to styling shelves. Is your style more eclectic? Bring in various textures, shapes, and sizes and give your shelves a curated look.
Update Your Light Fixtures
Light fixtures can make or break a space. They truly reflect the style of the space and give it personality. Consider changing out a basic light in your living room for something more dramatic to give it a wow factor. In small spaces, it can be intimidating to use a bold light, but it will really bring a statement piece to the space.
