I’m not a birthday kinda girl, but I do love any excuse to bring some of my favorites together! And even better, kicking off your new year surrounded by the ones who lift you up the most and are also some serious boss babes. So last minute, I invited some of my favorites over, to have a little birthday celebration for my 35th.
Back in our college days, my girlfriends and I used to have DIY sushi and martini nights and it was some of the most favorite memories that I have. So we thought we’d bring that back to life again!
I didn’t actually warn anyone what we would be doing. They showed up, asked how they could help and then I informed them all we were making the meal together, which was even more fun! That way it takes pressure of yourself to have everything ready when people show up. And it makes it that much more fun and interactive. Besides two of my old former roomies, no-one had DIY sushi before.
Couldn’t have thought of a better way to ring in this year with these eight babes by my side…and some babies in tow.
Here’s some of the fun we had! And of course a huge thank you to my best, Chelsie, for documenting the night away.
