It feels that projects never end. Right?!
It happens all the time when we go to a client’s home to bid “just” their bathroom, and then we’re walking through their kitchen, which quickly moves into the laundry room and all the doors and trim throughout their entire home.
By the time we are done and leaving we are estimating the entire house. Haha!
We’ve been busy working on our basement bathroom and wanted to give you guys a quick update on the progress we’ve made. We started this bathroom at the same time as our kitchen remodel, being we thought we could save some time and money. But this project is taking a lot longer than we thought… like most weekend projects do.
The basement is where we spend all of our nights. The boys have their toy room down there, and we have our comfy couch. The bathroom and bar are the only things we are missing. So we wanted to add them both in! Jamie’s next big project is creating the basement bar, which he’ll be using all of our old kitchen cabinets.
For the bathroom, the former homeowners had everything roughed in already so we thought it’d be a quick update. All we had to do was put a door there to the left of that post and put in some finishing selections.
Before
We divided the space in 1/2 to make for a cute powder bath…
Progress…
And here is where we are at five months later…
I love a fun wallpaper in a powder bath, so I knew the wallpaper was a for sure thing.
We made a full tutorial for you guys here –> How to Wallpaper 101.
Then, to be completely honest, I shorted the amount of wallpaper that I needed to buy. And being we just completed our kitchen renovation I was so over spending more money. So, for now, I’m going with paint. The other thing I knew I wanted to do was a dark black hexagon tile. Once we got that laid, I opted to go with dark green paint. Not sure I totally love it yet. But I think once we get the trim up and all the fixtures in, and decor styled… it’ll look a lot different. So, for now, I’m going to wait. I love an eclectic room, and I’ve been super eager to use dark green paint, so I’m going with it. Jamie’s not totally a fan yet, but that’s what I adore about him…he just smiles and shakes his head at me.
Hopefully, we’ll be back soon to show you the afters…because we have a permit to close out!
