Every Monday at c2s, we start our week by sharing thank you quotes or writing a thank you note to someone. It could be a client, spouse, coworker, or friends – anyone on your mind.
The purpose is to think about someone that you’re grateful for and let them know.
This small act of kindness has really shifted our perspective and helped us start our week with thankfulness and gratitude.
For more ways to start your week with gratitude, check out the 5 ways we do that each week.
Keep a List of People to Thank
If you want to get into the habit of writing thank you notes to those you love, make a list of people you want to thank as they come to mind. This will turn it from a thought in your mind to a tangible list of people you’re grateful for.
When you go to write your thank you, you can reference the list and what made you think of the person you’re thankful for.
Set Aside Time to Write
Instead of just thinking of writing a thank you as something you’d like to incorporate into your daily life, make it a habit and schedule time to write them out. As a team, we always spend the first 15 minutes of our Monday team meeting writing a thank you card.
That way, it’s on the calendar and built into our calendar. Doing it each week turns it into a habit, and before you know it, it’s been a month or even a year of writing a thank you card each week.
We’ve also heard of people that write a thank you card a day, which is super cool! If you want to get ambitious with it, set a reminder each day, along with 5-10 minutes, and it will become part of your routine.
