We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!! We hibernated at the Molitor home for three full days and did nothing but drink, eat and play games! It was heaven.
I think Greyson’s favorite present was the wrapping paper…
And mine was the new curtains Jamie got for me!! (With the help of his sister of course).
Jamie said we could hang one rod a night so…we have two windows done so far. And it already makes the room look 100x cozier. One thing I wish we wouldn’t have put off for so long.
Katie picked out Royal Velvet, Kathryn, Pinch Pleat Back Tab Panel’s from JC Penny’s.
And we got the rods from Home Depot, Home Collection, Brush Nickel Finish.
Saturday we got back to work and started and almost finished J & B’s basement remodel.
They had a water leak from their kitchen sink that had trickled through the pipes and broke within the walls and wrecked one of the rooms in their downstairs. They ended up having to tear out sheetrock and their carpet.
This past summer we remodeled their entry room for them. So instead of replacing the carpet they decided to carry the tile we had placed in their entry throughout the damaged room next to the entry.
Jamie fixed the wrecked sheetrock starting by making the whole uniformed. He leveled and cut the rock perfectly so he could put a new piece of cut rock into the hole.
Once he got the new sheetrock placed into the hole, he mudded and taped. They have flat ceilings so he had to be extra careful when mudding and tapping to ensure he left no traces of the tape.
We carried over the light grey tile from their entry called Leonia Silver Tile that we purchased from Lowes. We love this tile! We also used it in our guest bathroom remodel.
Greyson even learned how to help daddy cut tiles…
Jamie and I usually get into a good rhythm when doing projects together. Jamie laid the mortar while I followed behind him and laid the tile. And Greyer just chilled the entire time and watched and learned…
I think the worst part about grouting is the clean up. Jamie grouted while I came behind him and cleaned up. We went over the floor 4x swiping once and re-rinsing off the sponge.
24 hours later we had a newly tiled room!
Jamie still needs to sand and re-mud the sheetrock, put the trim back up and seal the floor. But he should have it all done by tomorrow, just in time for the homeowners to come home from vacation to a newly remodeled basement!
hehe. Anytime!! Thanks for always having us complete your projects!! 🙂
Thanks for all the hardwork….it looks great….it’s very nice having a talented sister and brother in law 🙂
Good point! Their new workout room for a new year!! 🙂
J&B will love coming home to this completed project. What a great way to start the new yr!
