Baby Bump Homestretch

Baby Bump Homestretch 1

Spread the love.

Hello 3rd trimester, we are officially on the homestretch!!!!! We are 28 weeks down with 12 more to go. I can’t believe how fast the time has passed. Even though in some moments I feel like it’s never going to end. Overall, I can’t complain about a thing. I have a healthy baby growing inside of me and I haven’t been all that sick or uncomfortable.

I was sick my first trimester and now, besides feeling very large, breaking out constantly, and losing my breath easily, this baby is taking it easy on me. I’m just praying that the sickness and tiredness won’t return this final trimester.

I’m not very good at taking and posting baby bump photo updates, but we’ve had some readers tell me to get on it. So here we go, plus we want to share the “before” of the nursery and our final checklist.

We decided to go with a bohemian vibe in the nursery. Besides buying these few items and unpacking all of Greyson’s baby clothes into the closet, we haven’t done much else in the space.

This is me telling Jamie were going to do black wallpaper on one of the walls. Hahaha…

We’ll keep you guys posted as to what we actually come up with for the space! To be honest, we aren’t entirely sure what we’re doing. I felt like we were so prepared with Greyson. We had his entire nursery done by the time we hit four months. I think you realize after your first, they don’t sleep in the nursery right away anyway, so what’s the rush? Except for…we think we’re going to have our hands full, so we better get on it!

We spent last night looking up all of our old blog posts while we wrote while we were preparing for Greyson and it was so much fun to rewind and remember all the feelings. It made us laugh really hard.

We were so much tanner…had such less wrinkles and bags under our eyes…haha! Which means so many more memories and laughs we’ve had. And we’ve clearly grown wiser to stay out of the sun, ha!

Greyson is soooo excited to be a big brother. He thinks the baby is going to come out of my belly button! Earlier today, he was trying to feed it his gummy bears through it…haha. He wants to help do everything, from shopping to unpacking, it’s so sweet. On the other hand, I think it’s going to make putting this nursery together a lot slower of a process.

From the nursery to the body, here’s our checklist to get ready for in the last few months…think we can do it?!

Last rodeo, I didn’t wear a maternity robe until I gave birth with Greyson. And it was the most amazing thing in the world. It’s all I wore in the hospital and it felt like the only thing I wore at home while breastfeeding. Pink Blush sent me this adorable robe for labor but it has quickly become my go-to every morning and night this last trimester.

Baby lotions, oils, and creams. You will go through this like no one’s business and I use all of the oils and creams I can for my own skin in hopes to avoid stretch marks and itchy skin. Mustela is a new product I was recently introduced to and I love it! I was all stocked up for baby #2, but now Greyson has been getting into it. They’re going to be sharing a lot of things so I guess might as well start now. And Greyson’s skin has never felt so soft.

  • Crib

We aren’t 100% sure if we should transition Greyson into a big boy’s bed or buy a new crib. We have a basinet for baby #2 for the first few weeks or months, but then he’ll need his own crib. We’re leaning towards transitioning, but that sounds scary to think he can get out of bed at any time and come wake us up, yikes!

What do you guys think? When did you transition from crib to bed?

  • Swaddle Blankets | Target

Swaddle blankets was another one of our favorites. They are so lightweight and soft and adorable. Even though we don’t swaddle Greyson anymore, we still use them for him all the time. So, more of these blankets are something we need to buy.

  • Sound Machine

A sound machine is another thing on our list. Greyson loooooves his sound machine, even to this day. Although instead of the heartbeat it’s the ocean waves. This is a must have and saving grace.

  • Baby Monitor

Another baby monitor is another thing on our list being we still use Greyson’s for him. We never went all fancy with G’s. I think it was literally under $15. We’re debating the video or not, but aren’t 100% sure. To be honest, they kinda scare the crap out of us. (Too many horror commercials in our days). But, now that we have a shop, it might be nice to have for this summer.

  • Double Stroller

Being we’re upgrading from 1 to 2, and right before summer. It looks like we’re going to have to upgrade from a single to double stroller. Still have yet to research any good brands.

You guys have any favorites?

A few other things we need to find and buy for the nursery decor…

  • Toy Basket
  • Bookshelf
  • Garbage
  • New Baby Clothes (so he doesn’t have to wear ALL of G’s hand-me-downs, poor guy.)
  • Wallpaper
  • New Rocker

We can’t wait to show you guys what we come up with for the nursery, along with how much of this checklist we actually get done in these final three months. Eeeek!

Anything else we need that you momma’s haven’t been able to live without? Please do tell.
