For those that read out blog (we LOVE you), you know we were recently hired to renovate a kitchen in Plymouth, MN. If you missed it, you can see all of the before pictures –> HERE.
When this family bought their home in 2015 they hired us to build them well- the biggest dinning room table we have ever built. At the time, they told us how they were going to renovate a lot of their home over time, so of course we put a bug in their ear to hire us! And when they asked us for a bid on their kitchen remodel, we jumped at the chance and were overjoyed when they ended up hiring us for the job.
Prior to coming to us, they hired a designer to lay out their floor plan and they were able to hand those plans off to us for their renovation needs. Working with this family, we changed up the floor plan a little bit and have assisted with design plans and finishing selections. Lucky for us, they have great taste and they knew exactly what they wanted and it’s been a breeze!
Our clients wanted a lot bigger and brighter space. We put this design board together for them and we decided on white dove paint color for the cabinets, white subway tile with grey grout, pendant lighting, gravel grey paint color for the walls and dark walnut custom kitchen island (to match the dinning room table we already built).
Being this family loves to entertain they wanted to take out a wall and convert part of their dinning room space into their kitchen and open up their floor plan. Since the day I walked into this house, I have told them how jealous I am. I love a wide open concept and they are about to have my dream home!
Today we are sharing what we’ve been up to for the last month. Demo, new cabinets, and lots and lots of painting!
A special THANKS to Handy Paint Pail for the surprise Christmas gifts in the mail- came just in time)!
The former cabinets weren’t bad, just needed some new finishing and new hardware. Being we were doubling their kitchen space we made new cabinets as well as another kitchen island and painted their old cabinets with the same finish. We finished priming and have gotten one coat of the paint on, we’re hoping only 1 more coat to go!
Never a dull moment on the job!! haha!!
This is definitely the biggest face frame for appliances we have done to date. And they are AWESOME. I am very jealous of the fridge and freezer our clients chose.
They also wanted us to build custom cabinetry to create a bar area for their dinning room. It’s crazy how it already makes the room feel bigger! We are going to finish this off with a few glass doors as well.
We were able to salvage the former island and build onto it to create a much larger island. We will be putting the microwave into that big opening right there.
We can’t wait to wrap up this project in January and show off our latest kitchen remodel. Words can’t express how incredibly thankful we are to this family for trusting us and hiring us for the job!
