Noah here…
It was cool to think about what I would tell my 8th-grade self, so I also went around food service and asked other inmates what they would tell their 8th-grade self, and here is what they said. Thought you’d get a kick out of it… 🙂
Smitty: Watch what you say, words hurt.
JT: Well, you’re right where they said you would be.
Vega: Have fun but don’t get carried away. You can try everything once but not twice.
Steve: If everyone is telling you something then listen; also you get kicked out halfway through the year, so listen.
Alonzo: Stop doing heroin, you get indicted your senior year. Stop trying to fit in.
Juan: You did a good job screwing up your life. Seventeen is a fork in the road, don’t go left.
Tracey: Just cause your dad’s a judge, doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want.
Jamal: Don’t take the bet, she gets pregnant.
Kevin: Things don’t turn out the way you think they are going to.
Anthony: Quit playing with pistols!
Lean: Just because he’s your dad, doesn’t means he has to be your role model.
Cheese: Don’t cover your body in tattoos. And don’t leave home until you have to.
Thank you Katie for your support. Means the world!
Some of these are very powerful! I’ve been reading through all your Noah posts–so relevant and real. Thank you!
