I cannot believe it’s been almost ONE YEAR since we started planning the design of our main level living room!! I hope we can get this baby wrapped up by June.
Bumping out and replacing the fireplace threw us a curveball! It definitely wasn’t as easy as we had planned and hoped. But we finally called the experts, and they came out yesterday to get everything finalized and hooked up.
Another standstill we ran into was finalizing our design plans. A fun fact about Jamie is that he is very design-savvy, which means he has a lot of opinions when it comes to the design…especially in our home. We’re on the same page as he doesn’t like to keep doing the same craft, the same style, the same old boring thing that everyone else has in their home. However, he also doesn’t want to put something into our home that is too crazy. And I’m all about being a little risky when playing with the design elements in our home.
But knowing whatever Jamie decides to do is good, and he’s doing all of the work, I threw my hands up in the air, and I let him make the final call. All I want is a finished living room! And I know it’ll look good no matter what. I think Jamie’s almost made up his mind on which design we’re going with, but we thought it’d be fun to round up all of the iterations we were debating on and see which one is your favorite!

This one is definitely our favorite and probably the one we’ll go with. I was adamant on a mantle but now that I see it without, I like it better than with. That’s the fun thing about seeing your space visually in renderings (which we do can do for you too, by the way).
Then you’ll have to wait and see what we decide on as he works away, which we’ll be documenting for you guys. The other fun thing about Jamie is sometimes he comes up with new ideas as he’s working, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the end result isn’t even one of these designs, ha!
