Pinterest Party!!

Spread the love.

Lawrence Merchandising PINTEREST PARTY!! Tis the season for parties and celebrations so I am going down memory lane to our LMS Operations Team Pinterest Party we had at my place last year. Pinterest parties are a BLAST to have and are so simple.

All you have to do is ask each guest to bring a project with the supplies and tutorial for everyone to make that project. Or if they want to bring a Pinterest food item, I asked them to bring the food already prepared with a recipe handout for everyone to take home with them to make at a later time.

These are some of the fun ideas my team came up with!

Christmas Ornaments. Amber brought a tree ornament idea.
Items Needed:
– Clear Glass Ornaments
– Pledge Soap Floor Wax
– Glitter

To do: Pop the hangers off of the ornaments. Squeeze soap into the ornaments. Swirl around to coat all sides. Poor glitter inside and shake! The end. Simple and inexpensive ornaments…and of course homemade (which makes them that much better)! Amber said she has made so many she isn’t sure what quite to do with all of them…they are that much fun to make!! 🙂

Amber also brought Candle Holders to glitter.
Items Needed:
-Clear Candle Holders
-Tape
-Modge Podge
-Paint Brush
-Glitter

To do: Wrap tape around the candle holders into any design. Modge Podge the outside of the candle holder. Roll in Glitter. I never got an end result photo…bummer…but they turned out pretty cool!

Bolt Bracelets. I saw this bracelet on Pinterested and was obsessed with having one!

Items Needed:
– Bolts
– String or Twine

To do: Braid the bracelet and intertwine the bolts on the outer ends. I’m not gonna lie, it was a little hard at first to balance the bolts on top of one another so that they kept the herringbone diagonal look to them. I had to have a friend help me and hold them in place while I braided.

Christina brought these amazing Chalkboard Clipboards.

Items Needed:
-Mini rectangular boards (she bought at Micheal’s)
-Painters Tape
-Chalkboard Paint
-Clothes Pins
-Magnets
– Glue

To do: Using the painters tape, tape off a tiny bit of the edges. Paint the board with 3 coats of chalkboard paint. Remove tape. Glue the clothes pins onto the back of the boards. Put the magnets onto the back of the clothes pins. When hosting a party you can clip the chalkboard onto a bowl to tell your guests what the dish is or you can magnet it onto your crockpot. When you are not using, you can place the magnet onto your fridge. I use mine all the time!

Callie brought a Mashed Potato Bar and incoprorted a game of MASH for eveyone to play. I thought that was pretty clever. And she even had martini glasses for us to dish em up in. She had sides of sour cream, green onions, chives, cheese, and bacon bits.

Meagan brought items to make Dessert Platters.

Items Needed:
-Plates
-Glasses

To Do: Hot glue the glasses onto the bottom of the plates. I have seen people use all different sizes and shapes of glasses and plates. Meagan decided to go all out and use Home Goods Plates and Glasses. I would probably advise on something from Good Will. 🙂 I have also seen people spray paint the glasses and plates all the same color which looks pretty cool. Once the glue is dry, flip back over and there you have your cupcake platter/serving dish.

Heather brought Orange Jello Shots.

Items Needed:
-3 large oranges
-1 large box of Orange Jello (6oz)
-1 cup orange vodka
-1 cup boiling water
-1/2 cup ice cold water
-1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

To do: Boil Water. Cut the oranges in half. Scoop out the inside of oranges. In a bowl combine: 1/2 cup orange juice. Next add the cup of vodka and the half cup of cold water to the bowl. Mix. Open up the jello mix and place it into a large bowl. Then add 1 cup of boiling water and stir until the jello crystals have dissolved. Then pour in the vodka mixture and stir. Place the orange halves on a muffin tin to keep them upright. Then pour the jello into each orange half. Make sure to pour it all the way to the top. Carefully place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours. Cut into wedges and serve.

I had also made Vegetable Cups. These were extremely easy. Buy any vegetables you want and cut them into thin long dipping pieces. Put ranch or vegetable dip into the bottom of each cup and fill the cup with veggies! Make’s it convenient for those double dippers out there. 🙂

Andrea had brought Gift Bags for us to decorate. We cut out all different shapes and patterns from cardboard, dipped it into paint and used them as our own stampers for our bags.

Jill brought Halloween Spiders for us to make which were a little messy but we had a lot of good laughs. We rolled styrofoam balls into glue and then into feathers. Glued on some eyeballs and stuck in some pipe cleaners. 🙂

The night was so much fun! We have had one other Pinterest Party since this one and it was a great success like the first! We had been meaning to have one for pretty much every other season that has passed but we have all been so busy. There were a few other items that were made: Jackie made cauliflower pizza, which was AMAZING! And Tina had brought grapes on toothpicks dipped into caramel and nuts and oh yes, she froze grapes as well for our wine. I can’t wait for our next Pinterest Party!!
