EASY BATHROOM UPGRADES: Q&A

Q: If you could only upgrade one area of your bathroom to make the biggest impact, what would you choose, and why?

c2s: If I had to choose just one area to upgrade for the biggest impact, it would be the vanity. The vanity is often the centerpiece of the bathroom and sets the tone for the entire space. Upgrading to a stylish, modern vanity with ample storage can instantly elevate the look and functionality of your bathroom. A new vanity can provide better organization, a cleaner appearance, and a fresh design element that ties the whole room together.

Q: Are there any must-have décor pieces, accessories, or fixtures in your bathroom that enhance the spa-like atmosphere?

c2s: Absolutely! To create a spa-like atmosphere, consider incorporating the following elements:

  • Plush Towels: High-quality, fluffy towels in neutral or calming colors add a touch of luxury.
  • Scented Candles or Diffusers: Aromatherapy can transform your bathroom into a relaxing retreat. Lavender, eucalyptus, and chamomile are excellent choices.
  • Greenery: Easy-to-maintain plants like aloe vera or bamboo can bring a bit of nature indoors, promoting a sense of tranquility.
  • Storage Solutions: Stylish storage options like woven baskets, glass jars, and trays keep clutter at bay and contribute to a serene environment.
  • Soft Lighting: Dim, soft lighting fixtures or even a dimmer switch can create a calming ambiance perfect for unwinding.

Q: From a design perspective, what are your favorite colors, textures, or materials to incorporate in your bath space?

c2s: From a design perspective, we love incorporating natural, soothing colors like soft greens, calming blues, and crisp whites. These colors evoke a sense of peace and cleanliness. As for textures, we favor a mix of smooth and tactile materials: glossy tiles for a clean look, paired with textured fabrics like waffle-weave towels and woven baskets to add warmth and interest. Materials like marble and wood also add a luxurious and timeless feel to the space.

Q: From a design perspective, what are your favorite colors, textures, or materials to incorporate in your bath space?

c2s: When it comes to designing a bathroom, I adore using cool, calming colors such as soft greys and light blues. These hues create a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. For textures, I love blending sleek surfaces like marble countertops with organic elements like wood accents and woven storage solutions. Incorporating materials like brushed nickel or matte black fixtures adds a modern touch while maintaining a timeless elegance.

SIMPLE UPGRADES, BIG IMPACT

Tip #1: Swap Out Builder-Grade Hardware for Sleek New Finishes

For minimal work and maximum impact, a little bit of luxe goes a long way with polished new hardware – and all you need is a screwdriver! Swap outdated cabinet and drawer pulls, bathroom sink faucets, and towel bars throughout your space. We recommend matching finishes across the board for a consistent look.

Tip #2: Make Accessories Count

It’s easy for bathrooms to feel cluttered with everyday cosmetics and grooming products strewn across the counter. Incorporate stylish yet useful storage accessories like woven baskets, glass jars, trays, and simple shelving to keep your space feeling clean and serene.

Tip #3: Show Your Style with Tile

While this upgrade is a bit more time-intensive, laying down fresh floor or wall tile is certain to create a huge visual impact! For a high-end, uniform look, extend tile past the shower walls to create a backsplash around your mirror and vanity. Or create a clean, modern look by laying classic subway tile in a herringbone or basket weave pattern.

Tip #4: Replace Your Vanity

You can quickly change the vibe of your entire bathroom with this one piece! With all the styles and designs available, you can easily find one that matches your dream aesthetic. To enhance the spa-like atmosphere, match the vanity base color with other pieces in the room for a breezy, cohesive look. Try cool, soothing tones like soft green or calming blue, or create a clean look with crisp white.
