We are really excited to share our latest client project that we just wrapped up! Recently, we were hired to remodel three bathrooms and finish a fireplace in a newly built home in Shorewood, MN. First of all, this home was absolutely gorgeous! We were so honored when we were hired for the job.
Fireplaces instantly make a home feel more cozy and they are a perfect place to bring in your design style in a unique and fun way. As a result, there are so many reasons why we love to install fireplaces into homes! Fireplaces are a great way to incorporate beautiful design elements like carrara marble, hexagon tile, reclaimed mantles, and more. Head HERE for tips on how to choose a home fireplace if you’re wanting to bring in a fireplace to your home.
Our clients wanted an elegant and timeless look for the finishings of their new home. Therefore, we suggested marble tiles, which are a great way to add beauty to fireplaces. In addition, white is always a marketable, classic color and it’s a bright color that reflects light and cleanliness. Plus, marble fireplaces exude beauty, elegance, and a classic look that will stand the test of time in your home.
History and Uses of Marble
The history of marble spans centuries and the material has been used for monuments, temples, and famous buildings. Since marble is a more delicate material, it is best used in low-traffic areas like a fireplace surround. If you spill on marble, be sure to wipe it up quickly so that it doesn’t stain. We recommend that clients use rugs in high-traffic areas that have marble in them.
Marble is great on a fireplace since the base is a low traffic area. Another reason why it’s great for this space is that the fireplace surround is less affected by spills and stains that would occur in a kitchen or bathroom. This carrara marble fireplace shows off the best qualities of marble. Yet, it is in an area that doesn’t require a lot of maintenance or cleaning.
Marble Tile Selections
Our client went with these beautiful Bianco White Carrara Marble Hexagon Tiles for the base of the marble fireplace. Hexagons bring in a unique and different shape than the typical rectangle tile and work well for the base of a fireplace. We used Carrara White 3×6 subway tile in this project for the fireplace surround.
Ta-Da! We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Finally, we were so humbled by all of the wonderful words our client had to say. Thanks again for trusting & hiring us to do the job!
