Wallpaper has gotten a bad rap in the last few decades as being old-fashioned and hard to remove. Now, designers and homeowners alike are realizing that wallpaper is actually a classic and beautiful wall treatment.
From bold colors to subtle patterns, wallpaper is such a great way to bring warmth, texture, and a statement to your home. It gives your room personality and makes spaces truly unique.
Today, we’re sharing vintage wallpaper patterns that we can’t get enough of!
1) Black & White Floral
This Smokey Rose wallpaper from Anthropologie is one of our faves! The subtle black and white pattern is timeless and creates a beautiful backdrop for the black pivot mirror and white oak vanity.
In this new home build we designed out, our clients were looking to add character to the powder bath and this design was perfect.
2) Birds of a Feather
In this bathroom by JKath Design Build + Reinvent, the feminine wallpaper is a great touch. When combined with the simple gold mirror and timeless sconces, it has a vintage feel that works well for any century.
3) Pantry Pop
A pantry does not have to be boring! Again, JKath Design Build + Reinvent killed it with this pop of color in the pantry. Adding wallpaper to a small space gives it personality and turns an otherwise forgotten about spot into a show-stopper.
4) Dramatic Floral
Rebel Walls is an amazing company for wallpaper and this Thorn Rose design is gorgeous! We used this wallpaper in our basement bathroom and love how it compliments the green walls and gold accents.
5) Forest Inspired
Another of our favorites from Rebel Walls is their design Bellewood. The forest-inspired design is exactly what we were looking for in Beckam’s bohemian nursery.
6) Block Print Laundry Room
This Addison Block Print wallpaper from McGee & Co is simple, but so timeless. We love the repeating pattern and the navy color that makes this laundry room look so classy.
7) In the Kitchen
The kitchen is not a room where we typically think of wallpaper, but UK designer Sophie Robinson is making us reconsider! We love how she used wrapped this garden-look wallpaper around the window and throughout the rest of the kitchen.
8) On the Ceiling
Another not as common spot for wallpaper is the ceiling, but we love how it draws the eye upward and makes the room feel taller. In this mudroom design by Design Loves Detail, the combination of the subtle grey and white wallpaper with the repeating gold chandeliers is very dreamy.
9) Art Deco
Mad About the House shared this amazing emerald bathroom and we cannot get enough of it! From the gold touches to the glossy subway tile, to the art deco inspired wallpaper, this bathroom is incredible. If you’re going to go bold in a room, a bathroom is the way to go.

10) Mid Century Modern
Hello beautiful! If you love the mid-century modern design style, this bedroom is GOALS. We how Joanna Gaines chose this repeating two-tone neutral pattern for this master bedroom in one of their Fixer Upper homes.
11) Statement Wall
If you’re a little nervous to add wallpaper to an entire room, consider starting with one wall in a small powder bath. It truly makes a statement and we love the pattern that JKath Design Build + Reinvent chose for this space.
12) Behind the Bar
This nook with Hygge & West‘s Serengeti wallpaper brings the bar to life. The dark colors add a moody element and are offset with the white shelving and glassware.
13) Blush and Beautiful
How cute is this living room by House Beautiful?! This blush floral wallpaper with green, blue, and yellow accented by a white sofa, gold light, and vintage pieces is amazing.
14) Play on Geometric
We’re always crushing on Emily Henderson‘s designs, but this dining room is spectacular. The play on a geometric look for a softer and classic feel of this wallpaper is so pretty. We love how the wainscoting and lots of natural light give the wallpaper just enough space to make a statement in this room.
